When I am about to record something it is like jumping into a undefined area where (nearly) everything might be possible. In general I don*t have any special theme or image of what would come out. But I start with a certain tone (timbre), and if I get inspired by it I start playing notes around that tone. I like to play with space effects like reverb or echo on my bass and I like to watch how they develop their own life depending how I "trigger" them.
CYBELE of ancient Phrygia was special in encouraging gender variety, ecstatic dance and music rites in her cult, much opposed to patriarch and Judeo-Christian traditions. I personally can identify with that chaotic principle where nothing is true and everything is permitted. Since Cybele is also associated as the "Great Mother", I thought she would fit well as title for my track for "M.O.M.M.A."
