about

Astronauta Pinguim's career as a solo musician and producer began in 2000, after taking part in several bands in Rio Grande do Sul (south of Brazil). Pinguim decided to launch his own career with his first solo CD "Petiscos: sabor churrasco/switched-on bah!", an album on which the musician used some of his many vintage keyboards, all originals from the '60s, '70s and '80s (MOOG synthesizers, Wurlitzer electric piano, Farfisa organ, vocoder). This first project ended up having a greater impact in São Paulo, which led Pinguim to move to this city in 2005. In his new "home", he started being hired as musical director and producer for shows and projects that included great names in Brazilian music, such as Elba Ramalho, Zeze Motta, Maria Alcina and Perla, among others. In 2008 he released his second solo album, "Supersexxxysounds" and with this work he was invited to play at festivals in several cities all around Brazil, from north to south. After three years of the release of his second album, Pinguim decided to record his third solo album, "Zeitgeist/propaganda", all alone, inside his own studio and performing all instruments and voices. To live performances, Pinguim also uses some of his vintage/analog keyboards and synthesizers (Minimoog, Moog Prodigy, Korg VC-10 vocoder and MS-20 synth, organ and electric piano) to play songs from the new work and also from the second album. He is sided on stage by Ramiro Pissetti on the drums. Pinguim is also part of the band who plays with the brazilian singer Lirinha.
